Bird's Eye View
This summer Freeland Spirits held a nationwide Gin & Tonic Recipe Contest! Among many delicious recipes, we named Anna Cincera our winner with her recipe for the herbal and spicy Bird's Eye View:
2 oz Freeland Gin
15 leaves Thai basil
½ small Thai bird’s eye chili
½ oz lime juice (approx ¼ of a large lime)
1 oz Som Thai basil vinegar cordial
½ oz simple syrup
Tonic (preferably Fever Tree)
- Into a cocktail shaker, add basil, ¼ of a lime and ½ of a thai chili. Muddle.
- To shaker add gin, Som, and simple syrup. Shake with ice and double strain into a tall glass full of ice(or goblet, this recipe tastes best with lots of room for tonic).
- Top with tonic, stir, and garnish with the thai basil.
